Luanda: Museum of slavery: National Museum of Anthropology Fortress with museum of armed forces Kissama National Park, 70km to the south of Luanda with a wide variety of wildlife. The park began life in 1938 as a nature reserve and was given National Park status in 1957. A project known as Operation Noah's Ark is being run by the Angolan government and the Kissama foundation to repopulate the park. The first elephants were flown in during 2000, since then zebra, wildbeest and ostrich are some oif the animals which have added to the parks poulation. The park is also home to sea turtles who nest on its beaches. Accommodation in bungalows is available in the park. |
