Credit cards have very limited accepance
It is difficult to exchnge the CFA outside the French monetary area

International calls generally have to be made through an operator
Mobile phone roaming agreements do exist but coverage varies and is non-existent in most places
Internet is not widely available and where available can be unreliable
Airmail postage takes around 1 week to Europe.
