AfriCat Foundation

The Africat Foundation was founded in 1992 to promote large carnivore conservation and animal welfare. Namibia is home to six large carnivores species including cheetahs, leopards, lions, spotted hyaenas, brown hyaenas and wild dogs.

Cape Cross Seal Colony

Originally the landing point of Europeans in 1486, the cape cross is now the home to one of the largest seal colonies in the world. A fascinating sight, but also a very smelly area.

Damaraland

Sights to visit within this area include:
Brandberg: - Nambia's highest mountauins and home to the White Lady bushman painting
Twyfelfontein:-home to thousands of bushman engravings and paintings.
Spitkoppe:- also known as the "matterhorn" of Namibia
Petrified Forest: - Which is millions of year old

Etosha National Park

One of africa's finest game parks, the Etosha park is unique to the large salt pan in the center of the park. formerly a lake. The park is over 23000 km sq, and is home to over 100 species of mammal, over 300 birds and one fish species. the park has three camps all with there own floodlit waterholes. Winter (May to November) is the best game viewing season.

Fish River Canyon

Fish river Canyon is considered to be the second largest in the world, the canyon is: 161 km long, 27 km wide, and up to 550 metres deep. The viewpoint at Hobas affords spectacular views.

Kaokoland

Kaokoland is a true wilderness area and is home to desert elephants, rhinos and the Himba tribes. The area is very rugged and 4 x 4 vehicle is required to access the area. It is recommended to visit this area by tor or with a guide.

Kolmanskop

Built at the beginning of the century after diamonds were found in thearea, Kolmanskop was abandoned after the suply dried up. Since the 50's the town has been a ghost town and is gradually being eaten up by the desert.

Namib Naukluft Park

This is the largest game park in Africa, the most visited part is the Sossusvlei and sesriem area. Where you can climb one of wrolds highest sand dunes for spectacular views of the desert.

Skeleton Coast

One of the remotest areas of Namibia the Skeleton Coast is so called due to the vast number of shipwrecks off the coast. Dense fogs occur along the coast due to cold coastal currents and the haet fom the desert.

Swakopmund

Swakopmund is namibia's holiday spot. In the area you can enjoy quad biking, sand boarding, scenic flights, skydiving and a host of other activities

Waterberg Plateau Park

The plateau rise 200m above the surrounding area, and has many sprngs and streams allowing the area to support a varied widelife. Many of Namibias rare species live here

Windhoek

Namibia's capital, the otwn has only 150,000 inhabitants. It has a mix of German colonial and african architecture.
