Saint Denis

The capital is a fun and lively town with some interesting architecture. Any visitor will almost certainly fly in or out from here.  It is worth spending a day or two.  The National Museum and Leon Dierx Art Gallery are worth a visit.

Visit the Cirques volcanic valleys around the islands.  Sightseeing tours can be organise.  The cirques are surrounded by mountains making a natural amphitheatre.

Walking and trekking on the mountains and around the islands is reccommended, there are over 600km of footpaths.

Visit the street market in Saint Paul (Fridays and Saturdays).

Botanical gardens in Saint Denis is worth a visit to see some of the islands exotic plants
