Tanzania is siuated in East Africa  It has water borders with Lake Tanganyika, Lake Victoria and the Indian Ocean.  It has land borders with Kenya and Uganda in the north, Mocambique and Malawi to the south, Zambia to the south west, and Rwanda and Burundi to the west. 

Zanzibar is formed of two islands about 36 km off the coast.
